Fort Sill in Lawton, Ok was built and staffed by Buffalo Soldiers
It may have predated any fort in Kansas, just check with Fort Sill.
Geronimo is buried in the Indian cemetary at Fort Sill. Indian Scouts were not allowed to buried with their white counterparts, and had to be buried at the Indian cemetary which was kept out of sight and mind until about twenty
years ago. Only now is the US government, the amry and the Fort Sill command acknowledging this, along with the heroics of the Buffalo soldier.

Dianne Ray took a picture of me at the Rapid City H-D parking lot the week of Sturgis 2000
it was by the first booth straight out the doors of the building.(it was the booth selling rings).I realize she took lots of picture's but it's worth the try.
