I met 'Boots" at the Hulett Ham and Jam. He was wearing a pair of worn down jeans held together with duct tape. Boots rode in from Woodstock, Virginia on "Old Betsy" his all blue Softail. The odometer just turned 53,000 miles.

Boots is on vacation for two weeks from his job in "Wildlife Enhancement" as the director of the Lord Fairfax Water and Soil Conservation. Since he usaully braids his long hair and tucks the braid in his corporate suit, Boots was delighted to "let it all loose for two weeks"

When I asked him about how he got his name, he told me because his first job out of high school he worked for "Old Man Boots the Plumber" and started to be called Boots Jr. The name stuck.
